Technical Writing - Working Group

Starts: March 10, 6:30 pm EST.
🤔
We will be meeting next time on Tues Mar 22 at 6:30pm ET (we will decide a more regular time at that session).
💡
Our main focus will be on ML related posts, and the goal is to write one collaborative multimedia post every week.

Overview / Logistics

  • This is a peer writing group and the purpose is help keep each other stay accountable and provide feedback to help each other improve.
  • This is NOT a workshop or anything like that where you get educated about technical writing by an instructor.
  • There will be weekly sessions, about an hour long, where we spend about 5ish minutes to welcome everyone, 45ish minutes to research / write in breakout rooms with a couple of peers, and about 10 minutes to share thoughts and wrap up - the content will be touched up and published after the session and once you receive feedback from others async.
  • The feedback will be provided on the 5 dimensions of readiness, novelty, value, understandability, and thoroughness with free format feedback about each item - each group will provide feedback to another group within 24 hours of the session
  • Each week 3-5 people will volunteer to decide on a topic for their group for the week after, facilitate the discussion in breakouts, then finalize and publish.
